Soundcloud recently implemented some new changes to their loudness normalization algorithm. Before this there was no normalization algorithm on soundcloud, meaning people would have to master their tracks louder to stand out more. Soundcloud was one of the last platforms to hold off on this change. Now the target loudness is -14 LUFS. I would personally aim for -10 to -12 lufs at the moment still because the algorithm is not perfect and louder tracks do still sound a bit louder. If you want a more detailed explanation check out the video I attached.
Back with a bit of a different tutorial for you guys, this is a bit of an advanced one. I show a technique I use to clean up background noise/sounds from an acapella after using izotope rx7 or splitter to acapella it. If you are still having background melodies this might be the solution for you. Check out the video.
